So, you finally realize that you need a good Opt-In list - after reading the many articles, hearing countless success stories; and you finally decide to have one of your own. Then it happens, you believe you have done everything according to the experts correctly and still you’re unable to make any significant profit.

In fact, you may be losing money. Perhaps you’ve hired writers to assist you, or other expenses may have incurred, and although you possess a big list, only a small percentage are actually making a purchase.

What could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded where you have failed? The most common mistake is that you dove right in. You chose a topic you thought was quite popular with the potential to influence a purchase but something went very wrong! A common problem with new Opt-In enthusiasts is assuming people will make an instant purchase when in reality most won’t commit to a purchase until they have been contacted seven to ten times!

You can build a base as well through other forum users. You can ask them to join your list. Friends are always good customers. Put up a link to your site so they may be able to see what your business is all about.

The certain truth is, money will only come when consumers and subscribers have trust and believe in you! Today, consumers appreciate value for their purchases and simply will not buy on a strangers recommendation alone.

2. Find a product or service that people want and need. If you provide a product or service, which you have researched and understand well, you then have a better opportunity to instill consumer trust. Then you may carry forward by Investing your time, effort and money marketing a product or service, which you truly believe in and consumers will see value in making their purchase!

While it is best to market a product or service that you have an interest in, not many may have your same interests. So remember to choose a product or service that is not only interesting (for you) but has the opportunity to be profitable as well! If you perform your research well and market promotional materials which are of value to your consumers and encourage them to share the materials with others you will see your profits begin to come in.


3. Make friends with other Opt-In list users. This will be beneficial especially if you have contact with several successful Opt-In list users who will share their experiences and enable you to avoid mistakes they have made and take advantage of their successful strategies as well! While there are many articles available for you through the Internet, there is nothing as beneficial as a first hand account from someone you trust and the saying goes – “experience is the best teacher”.

An experienced Opt-In list user will provide direction for what to do or not to do with your Opt-In campaign. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept can still be very helpful. There are many things to avoid and these people will be able to tell you which ones.

Remember, building a profitable Opt-In list does not happen overnight and requires preparation and effort! An Opt-in list begins with nothing but should grow to limitless proportions if the list is organized, managed, and maintained well, with happy, satisfied subscribers your profit margin will have limitless possibilities as well!
